Google Analytics and steps

Google Analytics



Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google. It tracks and reports website activity. It was introduced in the year 2005. Now Google analytics is a widely used web systematic administration. Google analytics is a tool which is very helpful to improve our website. It deals with visitors, their actions, incoming search terms, type, location, stay time measurements and so on. Google analytic tracking code is a bit of JavaScript code which is added to every page of the website by the website owner. This tracking code will run the program when a user browses the page.

Types of visits

• Direct visit

Direct visits are those visits which happens by users typing the sites url.

• Natural or organic visit

These are the visits occurs from the search engines.

• Referral visit

Users get to the website by clicking on the links in other websites.

• Social media visit

Visits occurring from social medias like Facebook, Twitter etc.

Steps

1. Login to Google analytic account through www.google.com/analytics.
2. Click on sign in option and login with your Gmail id.
3. Now add name, websites name, blogs URL, include a category.
4. Click the reporting time zone. The time zone should be added according to the countries time for which the website has been created for.
5. Click on the tracking id button.
6. Choose the country and then click on I agree from the terms and service agreement of Google analytics.
7. Copy the tracking id.
8. Get back to our blog.
9. Click on the settings option.
10. Then click other.
11. Paste the tracking id there.
12. Save settings.
13. Go back to analytics and copy the website tracking code.
14. Back to blogger click on theme and select alter html.
15. There paste the website tracking code before the header tag closing.
16. Click on save theme button.
17. Get back to analytics and select all website data.
18. From the window just opened select the option all website data.
19. Press the arrow button seen on the left side.
20. Select real time and click on overview .
Now we can track our websites real time overview.
