Google Analytics



Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google. It tracks and reports website activity. It was introduced in the year 2005. Now Google analytics is a widely used web systematic administration. Google analytics is a tool which is very helpful to improve our website. It deals with visitors, their actions, incoming search terms, type, location, stay time measurements and so on. Google analytic tracking code is a bit of JavaScript code which is added to every page of the website by the website owner. This tracking code will run the program when a user browses the page.

Types of visits

• Direct visit

Direct visits are those visits which happens by users typing the sites url.

• Natural or organic visit

These are the visits occurs from the search engines.

• Referral visit

Users get to the website by clicking on the links in other websites.

• Social media visit

Visits occurring from social medias like Facebook, Twitter etc.

Steps

1. Login to Google analytic account through www.google.com/analytics.
2. Click on sign in option and login with your Gmail id.
3. Now add name, websites name, blogs URL, include a category.
4. Click the reporting time zone. The time zone should be added according to the countries time for which the website has been created for.
5. Click on the tracking id button.
6. Choose the country and then click on I agree from the terms and service agreement of Google analytics.
7. Copy the tracking id.
8. Get back to our blog.
9. Click on the settings option.
10. Then click other.
11. Paste the tracking id there.
12. Save settings.
13. Go back to analytics and copy the website tracking code.
14. Back to blogger click on theme and select alter html.
15. There paste the website tracking code before the header tag closing.
16. Click on save theme button.
17. Get back to analytics and select all website data.
18. From the window just opened select the option all website data.
19. Press the arrow button seen on the left side.
20. Select real time and click on overview .
Now we can track our websites real time overview.

Google Webmaster Tools



Google Webmaster Tools now known as Google Search Console is a free web service provided by Google for Webmasters.It helps the webmasters to optimize their websites visibility.It also helps to inform Google about the content in the website.

Importance of verifying site ownership

It is very important to verify your website using Google webmastertools.For using webmaster tools first you have to join in it After joining we can use the facilities provided by Google webmaster tools.After joining,there will be a verification process through which Google gets to know that you are really an owner.After verification you will get a code on your site after that you can use Google webmaster tool.
There will be a dashboard visible to you when you login with your website.From there you will be able to use all those attributes available such as search queries,link your site,crawl option,site maps.For using the search console option you need to have a registered page,a valid Google account is needed for that and the owner must have to verify that account.The webpage can be verified through a valid account through domain name of the owner.After verification the tool displays its features and you will get notifications from Google webmaster tools.The verification process will help in proving your ownership.
It is through this platform Google communicates with webmasters.It will help in improving the quality of the website and in improving the ranking also.

Verifying ownership of your blog in GWT

•Create a blog in blogger.com
•Login to webmastertool.com
•Copy your blog’s url with .com extension(If it shows .in then remove .in and enter .com/ncr.ncr is country specific extension)
•Paste the url in the space given in the page “add property”
•By adding add property you will then reach a page there click ”html tag” verification method for blog and copy the “meta tag” data given in the text box.
•Go back to blogger dashboard and select dashboard. After that click theme and after click edit html and here before head tag closed paste the copied meta tag.Then click save theme button.
•Go to webmasters tool box and press the verify button.
•At this point you will get a green tick indicating that you have successfully verified your ownership

On page optimization is the process of working within the website.It is used to improve the qualities of the webpage or the content in it.The head part and the body part are the two parts of  a website document.the meta tag description and tag are a included in the head part.

SEO Title optimization

It is the most important part in an On page optimization.The title must be of three or more words it is only then Google will get a clarity about our site.The title tag is the first thing that will be shown so it must be *+clear and perfect.In our title we can only write 55 to 60 characters because Google cannot display long sentences.But we can write 70 characters in Googles search box.The title must be bold.There should be no spelling or grammatical mistakes and it must impressive also.

Meta description

Optimizing the meta description is an important aspect of on page optimization.Meta description should contain a brief about the websites services and the focusing areas.

Rich snippet

In rich snippet there will be a star rating.Those websites wich have that star rating has more chance to get a click by the user.

Header tag optimization


A header tag must be simple but effective.The header tag is the head portion.The focusing keyword must be there in the header tag.It is better if the keyword comes first.The heading must be short,simple and attractive.

Content optimization


Through content optimization we create simple sentences which are easy and understandable for the user.Content optimization helps in providing important data that search engines will use to determine what your content is about.Search engines use these informations in the search results for a particular keyword.

Image optimization

Adding images always helps in understanding what the content is about.Image optimization helps google to understand the image.we must use the right file name for the image to optimize our image.we can use alt name to provide a description about the image.

Authorship optimization

Authorship optimization helps in creating an editorial power.Authorship is available for article only not for websites.it helps in improving our clicks by increasing our rating.

Google the tech giant came into being as a result of a college project done by a group of student’s. At the beginning Google was not that reliable or powerful like today. After the terrorist attack on world trade centre the phase of Google changed forever. People from all over the world searched about world trade centre but Google was not able to give any proper results .This made the heads of Google think about how they can improve. Many came up with different suggestions. One among that was the websites at that time wasn’t easy to crawl. Google used crawling for scanning different websites. The difficulty to crawl the websites made them release some of their official datas to the webmasters of those websites. It was known as the SEO start up guide. Web masters used these data’s to make their websites able to crawl.

Search Engine Optimization is a process of affecting the ranking of a website or a web page in a search engines search results page. There are mainly two types of Search Engine Optimization they are on-page optimization and off-page optimization.

On-page optimization

On-page optimization refers to all measures that can be taken directly within the website in order to improve its position in the search rankings .Examples of on-page optimization include actual HTML code, meta tags ,keyword placement and keyword density.

Off-page optimization

Off-page optimization refers to all the measures that can be taken outside of the website in order to improve its position in search rankings. Examples of off-page optimization include things such as link popularity and page rank.

White Hat SEO is the ethical practice of optimizing web pages and Black Hat SEO is the non-ethical practice of optimizing web pages.

Keyword stuffing:

 Keyword stuffing means an effort to increase the ranking of webpage by inserting large number of keyword.

Link specific:

 Google adopted a method to rank websites that is the website which has more links from another websites will be ranked higher in the search results.

Quality link specific:

 It means that those websites with links from other quality sites will be placed higher in the ranking.

Passing the juise:

 Those websites which has ranking and supplies links will get a decrease in their ranking.

Google Adwords:

 Google Adwords is an online advertising service developed by Google. Advertisers pay money to Google for showing ad of their product.

Google Adsense:

 Google Adsense used by website publishers for putting advertisements on their web pages and earn money when visitors click or on the add.

Pogo sticking:

 The process in which Google increases the ranking of a website when a user spends more time in a website after clicking backspace from a previous website.

Panda is updated from time-to-time .Panda removes those site which uses contents with low qualities and sites which has spelling and grammar mistakes.

Penguin update was done against link spamming .Link spamming include link exchange, paid links, link farming, comment spamming, wiki spamming , guest blogging. Penguin update helped in understanding about those spams and in taking actions against those spams.

•Humming bird update

Humming bird update was introduced in the year 2013.It helps in giving semantic search results .It also helps in providing deep knowledge about the search. But the problem is that people acceptance make Google to accept the information as the right result even if it is wrong.

•Pigeon update

Pigeon update helped in increasing local listing in a search .It helps in finding results nearby.

•Rankbrain update

Rank brain update was launched in the year 2015.It was an advanced version of Humming bird update. Search engine uses artificial intelligence to provide more accurate results.

•Pirate update

It was an updation against piracy such as violation of copy rights. Google used DMCA to banish illegal content.

•Parked domain

Parked domain is a registration of domain names without associated with any services such as Gmail or a website. This is a practice of reserving a domain for future development.

•EMD update

This update was rolled out in the year 2012.Through this update google avoided those parked domains which does not have any improvement or achievement.

•Mobilegeddon

mobilegeddon update

Mobilegeddon update gives priority to those website which is mobile friendly. Those websites which are mobile friendly will be ranked higher in googles search result.This update was released in the year 2015.
